Course Description

A beautiful course surrounded by majestic red pines and camphor trees

Established in 1937, Karatsu Golf Club began as a 9-hole course (Babanono Course) and expanded to a full 18-hole layout in 1991 with the addition of the Taiheiyama Course . The original Babanono design was by Koichi Nitta, while the Taiheiyama Course was designed by Oba Corp with supervision from pros Minami Takanosu and Seiichi Kanai .

Course Layout: Two distinct 9-hole loops—Babanono and Taiheiyama—combine to form a Par 72 championship course measuring ~6,710 yards from the back tees, ~6,413 yards from regular tees .

Enjoy ocean views of Genkai-nada and the Karatsu islands against a backdrop of rolling bunkers and greens . Babanono features classic craftsmanship and intricate features; Taiheiyama offers bold, modern routing.  Greens and terrain demand strategic thinking and precise shot-making .

Facilities:

-- 230-yard driving range with 10 bays, plus chipping and bunker areas

-- Architect-designed clubhouse by Sakae Yo, with restaurant, meeting rooms, lockers, and a spa including hot springs and sauna.

-- Riding carts available; players shuttle between courses by bus .

-- Choice of caddie-assisted or self-play with 2–4 players per group .

Course rating ranges from 70.6 to 72.3. Narrow fairways, challenging greens, and hazards make for a compelling round. Highly praised for its blend of tradition, scenic variety, and maintained playability..

Dining:

Seasonal luxury menus such as sushi set, premium Wagyu steak, hot pot, and limited eel bento (reservation required; limited to 20 servings/day)
