Saga Classic Golf Club is a championship course that opened in September 1996 as the third course in the Classic Group. It features 18 holes, a par of 72, and a total yardage of 6,873 yards. Designed by Kyoji Nakamura (Adachi Construction), the course is set in hilly, forested terrain and is known for its elegant curves and strategically placed water hazards. The club spans an expansive area of approximately 1.25 million square meters, offering a spacious and open layout.
The clubhouse is fully equipped with facilities such as a restaurant, lounge, large public bath, locker rooms, changing rooms, and competition rooms—ensuring players can enjoy their day in comfort. Practice areas include a 260-yard driving range, putting green, and areas for bunker and approach practice.
A championship course renowned for its top-level difficulty, featuring rich green undulations and a dynamic, varied layout. It has hosted prestigious tournaments such as the Kyushu Open Golf Championship and the Kyushu Inter-Club Finals, continually enhancing its strategic complexity year after year to challenge even the top professionals. In 2023, it was officially recognized as a JLPGA-certified course.
Notable signature holes include OUT No. 7, and IN Nos. 11 and 17, which feature scenic water hazards and require strategic play. Overall, the course is best suited for intermediate to advanced players, with undulating greens that demand thoughtful shot-making.
As for dining, the club’s recommended lunch menu is the premium pork fillet cutlet set featuring “Tokoton Pork” from Joshu. The meal is highly praised for both its taste and generous portion. Other offerings include Japanese set meals and soba noodles.
