A magnificent view of Ishikari Bay from every hole
Conveniently located just 30 minutes from central Sapporo and approximately 25 minutes from Otaru, Chisan Country Club Zenibako offers excellent accessibility while maintaining the tranquility of its natural surroundings. The course features a stunning hillside layout with breathtaking vistas, where Ishikari Bay stretches out before you and Mount Teine stands majestically in the background. Enclosed by pristine nature on three sides, each hole is beautifully framed by seasonal trees, including white birch, rowan (nanakamado), cherry blossoms, and acacia.
While the overall yardage is relatively short, the layout is remarkably dynamic and diverse, seamlessly blending natural beauty with strategic challenge. Golfers can enjoy the thrill of exhilarating downhill drives as well as dramatic shots across natural valleys and ravines. The course’s crown jewel is Hole No. 13—a formidable 630-yard challenge and the longest hole on the course—featuring a spectacular downhill tee shot aimed directly toward the bay.
The course features rolling, undulating terrain, so the lie of your ball will change constantly from your second shot onward, making precise directional control essential. In addition, many of the greens are elevated in a volcano- or plateau-style design, requiring accurate and carefully judged approach shots. Rather than relying on aggressive power play, a thoughtful and strategic approach will lead to better results. To fine-tune your short game before teeing off, a dedicated approach practice green is also fully available on-site.
For added comfort and convenience, GPS-equipped 5-passenger golf carts provide smooth navigation throughout the course, allowing you to focus on your game while enjoying the scenery. Depending on the daily weather and turf conditions, these carts can be driven directly onto the fairways, allowing for a remarkably relaxed and effortless round.
At the clubhouse restaurant, famous Hokkaido local dishes can be enjoyed while looking at a beautiful, panoramic view of Ishikari Bay.
Featured menu items include:
-- Jingisukan (Grilled Mutton): A famous and classic Hokkaido BBQ dish.
-- Butadon (Pork Bowl): Thick, juicy pork served over a bowl of warm rice.
-- Chen Kenichi Dandan Noodles: Highly popular, authentic Chinese noodles created by a legendary chef.
