Stunning views of the East China Sea and lush tropical scenery that captivate every golfers
Chura Orchard Golf Club is a scenic seaside hill course located in Onna Village on the main island of Okinawa, offering breathtaking views of the East China Sea and the lush natural beauty unique to the subtropics. Because the course faces the sea, it is strongly affected by wind, especially during the winter months, when club selection becomes particularly challenging. The layout features a wide variety of holes, including uphill and downhill shots as well as dramatic carries over valleys, providing both excitement and strategic depth.
On the front nine, the key challenges include the swirling winds in the valley on the 3rd hole and the frequent headwinds on the 8th hole. The view from the 5th hole is one of the most spectacular on the course, overlooking the sparkling East China Sea. The back nine climbs gently up to the 14th hole, and the 15th hole—located at the highest point of the course—offers a magnificent panorama and a thrilling downhill tee shot. Throughout the course, players can enjoy stunning ocean vistas that enhance the overall experience.
This course is also known as the former host of the legendary Daikyo Open, where top professionals once battled for honor in the season’s final event. The clubhouse, though not extravagant, retains the atmosphere of those historic moments—where champions such as Isao Aoki, Masahiro Kuramoto, and Hideto Tanaka celebrated their victories. Facilities include a sauna-equipped bath, restaurant, lounge, and competition rooms, all preserving the heritage of this classic venue.
