The club hosted the Japan PGA Championship in 2001, highlighting its competitive quality
Queens Hill Golf Club opened in November 1992, Queens Hill Golf Club was designed by Akira Hattori, with professional golfer Ayako Okamoto serving as course advisor. The result is a refined 18-hole course that blends strategy with elegance.
Philosophy of the club was created as a “stage for memorable moments,” with a layout that invites players to take on thoughtful challenges. The clubhouse design also reflects a soft and welcoming atmosphere, especially considerate of female golfers.
Access Approximately 30 minutes by car from Fukuoka Airport and 25 minutes from Tenjin. It’s also about 35 minutes from Fukuoka IC or Dazaifu IC on the Kyushu Expressway, making it easily accessible for both locals and visitors.
The course is mostly flat with wide fairways and strategically placed water hazards. This is a hilly course with an elevation difference of 8 meters, featuring a layout that incorporates 12 ponds of various sizes. Each hole offers wide fairways that allow for relaxed tee shots, but the strategically placed water hazards throughout the course make it difficult to play too aggressively. The greens have subtle undulations, making putting a key factor in scoring.
On the front nine, Hole 4—a short hole surrounded by water—and Hole 9—with a creek running along the left side of the fairway—are particularly challenging. On the back nine, water comes into play on many holes, especially Holes 12, 14, 16, and 18, where precise distance control and directional accuracy are essential. The club hosted the Japan PGA Championship in 2001, highlighting its competitive quality.
Highly rated by experienced golfers, the course is praised for its dignified layout, strategic design, and calming floral scenery. Despite undergoing civil rehabilitation, the course maintenance remains excellent.
The clubhouse features a lounge and restaurant on the second floor, offering seasonal dishes and local specialties. The bright, open space provides a relaxing environment for players to unwind after their round.
