Trial Golf ＆Resort, Wakamiya Course

Nestled in the serene hills of Miyawaka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Trial Golf & Resort Wakamiya (formerly Wakamiya Golf Club) is an 18-hole course that has welcomed golfers since its grand opening on April 26, 1977. With its convenient location—just about an hour’s drive from both Fukuoka City and Kitakyushu—it offers a perfect escape into nature for golfers of all levels.

Designed by Hazama Corporation, the course takes full advantage of the gentle terrain, with an elevation difference of less than 30 meters across the entire layout. Thoughtfully placed water hazards and bunkers add strategic depth, while the course remains accessible and enjoyable for beginners and seasoned players alike.

■ Signature Holes  

Among the highlights is the 13th hole, where players can enjoy a unique view of the Shinkansen gliding by in the distance. A large pond guards the left side of the green, demanding precision and focus. The 9th hole is another standout—a picturesque par 3 that challenges players with a dramatic tee shot over water.

■ Clubhouse & Dining  

Renovated in 2019, the clubhouse features a charming brick façade and a warm, inviting interior. The on-site restaurant serves a delightful selection of Japanese and Western cuisine, with local specialties from Miyawaka such as farm-fresh eggs, miso, and seasonal fruits. Popular takeaway items like handmade rusks and cakes also make perfect souvenirs or tournament prizes.
