British‑inspired design for a truly distinguished golfing experience.
Beginning in October 2025, the course will officially return to its historic name, Narashino Country Club, following a brand transition from “Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club.” This prestigious 36‑hole facility has long been recognized as one of Japan’s premier tournament venues, combining classic Japanese parkland design with world‑class championship standards. Narashino Country Club is also known for its excellent accessibility. The nearest station, Chiba‑Newtown Chuo Station (Hokusō Line), is approximately 60 minutes from central Tokyo, and the club provides a shuttle bus (about 10 minutes) from the station, making it one of the most commuter‑friendly championship courses in the region.
A Course with Global Recognition — Home of the ZOZO Championship
Since 2019, Narashino has hosted Japan’s only official PGA TOUR event, the ZOZO Championship, five times. The club has welcomed many of the world’s top players, with champions including:
1) Tiger Woods (2019) — earning his historic 82nd PGA TOUR victory, tying the all‑time record
2) Hideki Matsuyama (2021)
3) Keegan Bradley (2022)
4) Collin Morikawa (2023)
5) Nico Echavarría (2024)
These events showcased Narashino’s ability to challenge elite professionals with its narrow fairways, strategic bunkering, and demanding greens, while also highlighting the beauty of its traditional Japanese landscape.
Narashino features two contrasting 18‑hole layouts:
King Course
A long, athletic course designed for strong ball‑strikers. Its tight corridors, deep bunkers, and length make it a true test for competitive golfers. The King Course is frequently used in professional tournaments and forms the backbone of the composite layout used for the ZOZO Championship.
Queen Course
Flatter and more visually open, with numerous ponds that create beautiful reflections and strategic water carries. Its scenery and playability make it enjoyable for golfers of all ages and skill levels. Despite its gentler appearance, the Queen Course still incorporates thoughtful design elements that reward precision.
Both courses have been used for major domestic tournaments, including the Suntory Open, Japan Open Golf Championship, and Japan Senior Open, reinforcing Narashino’s status as a world‑class venue.
Design Philosophy & Signature Features
Narashino is known for:
-- Tree‑lined fairways that demand accuracy
-- Two‑green system on many holes, a hallmark of traditional Japanese course design
-- Strategically placed bunkers and ponds that influence both tee shots and approaches
Meticulously maintained greens that challenge even the best putters
A signature hole often highlighted in tournament play is the par‑4 14th on the composite course, featuring a narrow landing area framed by tall pines and a green protected by deep bunkers—an iconic example of Narashino’s blend of beauty and difficulty.
