Course Description

An open and refreshing seaside course with panoramic views of the East China Sea

Located at the northern end of the renowned Fukiagehama Sand Dunes—one of Japan's three major sand dune regions—Cherry Golf Kagoshima Seaside Course is a spectacular seaside golf destination overlooking the East China Sea. This 18-hole, par-72 championship course is celebrated for its breathtaking coastal scenery, strategic layout, and championship-caliber challenge, making it one of the premier golfing experiences in southern Japan.

Conveniently located just 30 minutes from downtown Kagoshima and only five minutes from the Minami Kyushu Expressway's Miyama Interchange, the course offers excellent accessibility while retaining the tranquility of its coastal setting. Thanks to Kagoshima's mild climate, golfers can enjoy outstanding playing conditions throughout the year.

Set across rolling hills above the East China Sea, the course takes full advantage of its dramatic natural landscape. Panoramic ocean views accompany golfers throughout the round, while significant elevation changes create both visual excitement and strategic complexity. Measuring nearly 7,000 yards from the championship tees, the course demands a complete game, combining length, accuracy, and thoughtful course management.

The layout is particularly renowned for its challenging par-4 holes, where both power and precision are essential. Several par-3 holes stretch close to 200 meters, testing club selection and shot execution. Throughout the course, the ever-changing coastal winds add another layer of difficulty, requiring golfers to carefully evaluate every shot.

Among its many memorable holes, several stand out as true signatures of the course. The picturesque 2nd hole, a downhill par 4, is one of the most photographed on the property, offering a spectacular tee shot toward the sparkling East China Sea. The scenic 3rd hole, a par 5, showcases the natural beauty of the coastline while rewarding strategic play. On the back nine, the elevated 16th hole provides magnificent ocean vistas and thoughtful risk-reward decisions, making it one of the highlights of the round. Meanwhile, the demanding 14th hole is widely regarded as the course's toughest test—a long par 4 where distance, precision, and intelligent course management are all required to reach the green in regulation.

After the round, golfers can unwind at the clubhouse restaurant while enjoying panoramic views of the East China Sea. The restaurant offers a wide selection of Japanese and Western dishes, including regional specialties featuring Kagoshima's famous Kurobuta (Berkshire pork). Combining delicious local cuisine with spectacular coastal scenery, it provides the perfect conclusion to an unforgettable golfing experience.

At Cherry Golf Kagoshima Seaside Course, success ultimately comes down to mastering the course's two defining elements—distance and wind. Golfers who combine power, precision, and strategic shot-making will discover a championship layout that is both demanding and immensely rewarding.
