A Hawaiian-inspired course featuring expansive lakes, beach-style bunkers, and tropical palm trees
Golden Palm Country Club is a scenic parkland course that evokes the atmosphere of a tropical resort while offering a rewarding strategic challenge. Water hazards, creeks, and beach-style bunkers are thoughtfully incorporated throughout the course, and its gently rolling terrain provides variety on every hole. The fairways are generally generous, allowing players to swing with confidence, while the water-lined holes demand careful course management. Conveniently located less than 30 minutes from both Kagoshima Airport and downtown Kagoshima, the club is ideal for both day trips and golf resort stays.
The back nine is the highlight of the course, where beautiful scenery and water hazards combine to create memorable and strategic golf. The par-3 14th features a peninsula-style green extending into the lake, requiring both precision and confidence. The 16th is a picturesque hole framed by water, offering an open and inviting setting. The finishing par-5 18th is the course's signature hole, with a lake on the right, a creek crossing the fairway, and another large lake behind the green. Careful decision-making on the second shot is essential for setting up a good scoring opportunity. On the front nine, the long par-4 5th is regarded as one of the course's toughest challenges.
The club features an on-site hotel, opened in 2021, allowing guests to combine golf with a relaxing resort stay. During the round, players can enjoy light meals and refreshments at the drive-through café, while overnight guests can experience barbecue dining and other resort-style offerings. The clubhouse, distinguished by its Spanish-tiled roof, pinewood interiors, and rattan furnishings, enhances the tropical ambiance. Its spacious atrium overlooks the course, and after the round, players can unwind in the natural hot spring bath. Combining spectacular scenery, strategic golf, and exceptional hospitality, Golden Palm Country Club offers a memorable golfing experience both on and off the course.
