A Scenic Course Inspired by the Beauty of Izumo.
Izumo Taisha Country Club is an 18-hole hill course located in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, just a short distance from the famous Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine. Set amid the region's beautiful natural surroundings, the course features gently rolling terrain with flat, spacious fairways and no blind holes, providing excellent visibility and an enjoyable yet strategic round for golfers of all skill levels. Mature pine forests, scenic ponds, and carefully designed hazards blend seamlessly with the landscape, creating a peaceful atmosphere throughout the course.
The course consists of two distinctive nine-hole layouts, Mikuga and Kunibiki, each offering its own unique character. The Mikuga Course is separated by magnificent pine groves and features longer holes that reward both distance and accuracy. The picturesque lotus pond bordering the left side of the 2nd hole adds both beauty and challenge, while the demanding 8th hole is one of the course's toughest tests, requiring a well-executed approach to reach the green in regulation. On the Kunibiki Course, golfers are treated to spectacular views as the layout follows the shoreline of the expansive Hebi Pond from the 7th hole onward, creating an unforgettable golfing experience surrounded by nature.
The signature hole is the 9th on the Kunibiki Course, where players must carry an inlet of Hebi Pond before reaching a green beautifully framed by a striking red suspension bridge. Its breathtaking scenery and strategic design make it the most iconic and photographed hole on the course. Izumo Taisha Country Club also gained international recognition as the host venue of the inaugural Junior Golf World Cup in 1992, welcoming many of the world's finest young golfers. After the round, guests can unwind at the clubhouse restaurant, which serves a selection of Japanese and Western dishes while offering relaxing views across the course, providing the perfect conclusion to a memorable day of golf.
