Spectacular Views Over Kyoto City.
Kyoto Golf Club – Funayama Course is a historic 18-hole course located just 20 minutes from the center of Kyoto City. Originally designed by the legendary Japanese golf course architect Osamu Ueda, the course is renowned for its spectacular panoramic views overlooking Kyoto City and its strategic layout that makes full use of the natural hillside terrain. Although relatively short in length, narrow landing areas, undulating fairways, and well-protected greens require precision and thoughtful course management, providing an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
One of the course's highlights is its elevated holes, where golfers are rewarded with breathtaking views of Kyoto's historic cityscape framed by the surrounding mountains. The dramatic elevation changes and scenic vistas create a memorable golfing experience unique to Funayama Course. While the club does not officially designate a signature hole, these panoramic hillside holes are widely regarded as the course's defining feature.
After the round, golfers can relax at the clubhouse restaurant, which features large windows and a terrace overlooking Kyoto City. The restaurant serves a variety of seasonal Japanese and Western dishes, thoughtfully prepared with both flavor and nutrition in mind, making it the perfect place to unwind while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Blending nearly a century of tradition, spectacular city views, and strategic golf, Kyoto Golf Club – Funayama Course offers a truly authentic golfing experience in the heart of Kyoto.
