Course Description

Where Japanese Golf Meets World-Class Standards.

Taiheiyo Club, Royal Course is a prestigious 18-hole championship course located in Hokota City, Ibaraki Prefecture, approximately 90 minutes from central Tokyo. Designed by renowned golf course architect Pete Dye, the course showcases his signature style, featuring bold bunkering, strategically placed water hazards, and undulating greens that demand precision, creativity, and thoughtful course management.

Recognized as one of Japan's premier tournament venues, the Royal Course has hosted numerous professional events, including the Mitsubishi Electric Automation Women's Open on the JLPGA Tour, reflecting its outstanding championship quality and immaculate course conditioning.

Every hole offers its own distinctive challenge. The picturesque 9th hole, a beautiful par 4 framed by an eye-catching beach bunker along the left side, is regarded as the toughest hole on the front nine. Its large, undulating green is divided into three distinct sections, making an accurate approach shot essential for a good scoring opportunity.

The course's signature 17th hole is a spectacular par 3 surrounded by a shimmering lake and dramatic beach bunkers, creating one of the most photogenic holes on the course. While the scenery is breathtaking, swirling winds make club selection particularly challenging, and golfers are often advised to take one extra club to ensure they safely reach the green.

Beautiful bentgrass fairways and greens, tranquil woodlands, and meticulously maintained playing conditions combine to provide an exceptional golfing experience throughout the year. The elegant clubhouse features refined Japanese and Western cuisine, spacious locker rooms, and relaxing bath facilities, allowing golfers to unwind in comfort after their round. Blending Pete Dye's world-renowned design philosophy with first-class hospitality and stunning natural scenery, Taiheiyo Club, Royal Course offers an unforgettable championship golf experience.
