Nasu Golf Club

Nasu Golf Club is one of Japan's oldest and most prestigious mountain golf courses, located at an elevation of approximately 900 meters on the slopes of Mount Nasu in Tochigi Prefecture. Opened in 1936, the course is widely recognized as the debut work of legendary golf course architect Seiichi Inoue. Surrounded by breathtaking highland scenery, golfers enjoy panoramic views of Mount Nasu's volcanic peaks, the vast Nasu Plain, and, on clear days, even the distant Tsukuba Mountains.

Rather than relying on artificial hazards, the course is shaped by nature itself. The rolling terrain, uneven lies, and the ever-changing mountain winds provide the primary challenge, while only 18 bunkers and a single pond are found throughout the entire 18-hole layout. The design creates a strategic and rewarding experience that demands precise shot-making, distance control, and thoughtful course management.

One of the course's signature holes is the 14th, where players are treated to a spectacular close-up view of Mount Nasu rising dramatically beyond the fairway. The scenic 16th hole also offers magnificent panoramic views overlooking the Nasu Highlands, making it one of the most memorable holes on the course.

The historic clubhouse and lodge, designed by renowned architect Antonin Raymond, blend beautifully with the surrounding forest, while the club's natural hot spring provides the perfect place to relax after a round.
